Two-time and defending champion Justin Kinderknecht held off a mid-race challenge by Dustin Forsberg to claim the National Championship Racing Association of Park City, Kansas presented by Precise Racing Products Mod-lite season opener at 81 Speedway in Park City on Saturday night.
Kinderknecht and Ryan Ayers started on the front row for the twenty lap feature with Kinderknecht wasting little time proving he was the man to beat as he took the lead as the green flag fell.
Several cautions slowed the pace, allowing ninth starting Forsberg to work through the field and into the runner-up position by the races midway point.
A lap thirteen caution bunched up the field, putting Forsberg on the leaders rear bumper on the restart. Kinderknecht worked the high side while Forsberg ran down low and pulled along side several times before Kinderknecht utilized his momentum up to open up a ten car length lead.
He would go the rest of the way unchallenged to claim the victory. Forsberg held on for second while Ryan Ayers, Jason Roe and Travis Govern rounded out the top five.
